SC110. ISEA Presents: Improving Literacy and Reading Comprehension in Science Through Journal Writin
Join us in a writing experience using strategies in science and literacy. Using nature as a theme, we will incorporate highlights from the Leopold Education Project to progress from low-stakes writing strategies using real-time writing and dialogue to mid-stakes writing using creative collaboration and higher problem solving through a scientific investigative lens. Writing materials will be provided, however, participants are encouraged to bring personal journals and writing supplies to enhance creative opportunities. The session will emphasize TEKS standards using scientific reasoning and critical thinking and ELA writing strategies. Educators of young learners, grades 5-8, welcome to participate in this highly engaging writing to learn session.
