WORKSHOP INFORMATION – WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW
 
Since 2003, the Prevent Cancer Foundation has hosted a series of annual Workshops focused on the application of high resolution CT imaging data to lung cancer drug development.  The 2015 Workshop will continue to provide a forum for an exchange of ideas on the application of quantitative CT imaging to early lung cancer management as well as for discussing policy and advocacy for lung cancer screening done responsibly.
 
Workshop XII will focus on two key areas:
  • Accelerating partnerships in advancing new drugs to manage early lung cancer
  • Policy implications of characterizing the extent of tobacco injury to lung cancer screening
(Representatives of the Quantitative Imaging Biomarker Alliance, the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer, the American College of Radiology, the Lung Cancer Alliance and a number of other organizations will participate in these discussions).
 
This unique forum brings together key leaders in lung cancer early detection and development of new therapies for management of early-stage disease:
  • Academic and community-based oncologists
  • Pulmonologists and radiologists
  • Experts in photonics and software development
  • Federal policymakers and regulators
  • Patient advocates
  • Pharmaceutical and medical imaging industries
 
Workshop XII will continue to build on the considerable progress achieved in earlier Workshops and address the recent cost/benefit analysis of lung cancer screening as well as explore the health policy implications of moving quantitative imaging to more efficient early detection of lung cancer in high risk populations.
